HIROTEC AMERICA Signs Value-Added Reseller Agreement with OTTO Motors, a Division of Clearpath Robotics

Auburn Hills, MI., August 1, 2019 – HIROTEC AMERICA, a member of the HIROTEC Group, a global automotive supplier specializing in the production of body-in-white closures, exhaust systems, and closure manufacturing equipment, announced it has signed a Value-Added Reseller (VAR) agreement with OTTO Motors, a division of Clearpath Robotics.

This new agreement will allow HIROTEC AMERICA to sell and integrate OTTO Motors’ self-driving technology to improve efficiencies by orchestrating flexible, adaptable, and lean material pickup and delivery. HIROTEC AMERICA’s relationship with OTTO Motors and Clearpath began in 2016 when HIROTEC developed a mobile robotic process utilizing OTTO’s self-driving base to simplify the black oxidizing process of its small parts.

With over 85 years of manufacturing know-how, HIROTEC’s expertise in lean and innovative manufacturing combined with the utilization of OTTO Motors’ self-driving application and technology enables HIROTEC to bring a wide variety of solutions to customers including material transport, mobile robotics, and innovative assembly systems.

HIROTEC is currently utilizing OTTO Motors’ self-driving system in its newly developed closure production lines at their headquarters in Hiroshima, Japan for material transport, with plans to continue to integrate this technology within its other Group Companies.
